A Pet Adoption Event at our sister community, Meridian 2250 at Eisenhower Station, collected 2 RSVPs and introduced residents to Petey and Furends, Post Pets and VEG ER. Pet of the Month entries were due July 20, and the July winners posted to the feed were a fetch-playing Russian Blue cat nicknamed Cheese and a six year old dwarf lionhead rabbit.

The fifth event, the "Shark Week" Canned Tuna Drive, was a Move For Hunger partnership running through July 31 with donation bags at the Concierge Desk. Our team also ran beach trivia for a $25 gift card, and three residents replied with full answer sets.

What Residents Were Talking About in July 2026

The most common post in July was one neighbor asking another for something small. A resident needed a couple of teaspoons of Old Bay for a recipe and had an offer within five minutes. Another asked to borrow an Apple Watch charger "for thirty seconds", and a neighbor answered "I have one you can use." Someone moving out asked to borrow power tools and got a yes the same evening. Moving boxes came up three separate times.

Giving things away was the other steady theme. Marketplace carried free listings for a new chair still in its box, a decanter, a kitchen torch, a washable dog bed and a stack of New Yorker, Cook's Illustrated and Bon Appetit back issues. One resident left about 20 mini champagne cups in the phase 2 lobby for anyone who wanted them. Another offered contemporary romance novels to neighbors before dropping them at a Little Free Library.

The Old Town North Buy Nothing group came up as the place to pass on usable furniture, and two neighbors described the bed frame, coffee table and spot cleaner they had rehomed through it.
